President's Message

Over the past year, Piedmont Technical College has been a beacon of light amid a sea of uncertainty. PTC’s pride and commitment to excellence remains securely intact. You see, we are much more than an institution of higher learning, more than bricks and mortar, more than Wi-Fi and bandwidth. We are a strong community filled with individuals who possess the tenacity to withstand any obstacles thrown our way.

Together, our faculty, administration, and staff share the diverse dreams of our students. PTC serves as a bridge to a powerful next chapter for thousands of talented individuals. The best is yet to come!

Since opening its doors in 1966, PTC has offered a wide variety of degree programs designed to satisfy the region’s most compelling workforce needs as well as ample transfer opportunities to more than 40 colleges and universities throughout South Carolina.

For in-person learning, we offer convenient, well-equipped campuses in each of the seven counties we serve ― Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick, Newberry, and Saluda. We also offer a vast array of hybrid and online courses to accommodate the evolving needs and circumstances of all students. We are committed to delivering a quality education, regardless of format.

Perhaps above all, PTC is nimble in its ability to modify or add content and curricula as workforce needs change. Our active and ongoing relationships with business and industry are essential to ensuring that the courses we offer will support the immediate skill sets that are required in the current workplace. That is why we confidently confer our Job-Ready Guarantee upon graduation.

We are steadfast in our mission to support the achievement of your academic goals and look forward to partnering with you to make your dreams a reality. Thank you for trusting PTC with your education. We are stronger together!

Dr. Hope E. Rivers
