Paramedic, Certificate - PMD7
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Paramedic Certificate is designed for students currently working in the fire/rescue field who are certified as either South Carolina EMT or National Registry EMT. This certificate can be completed in three semesters with a total of 40 credit hours. Upon completion of this certificate program, students will be eligible to take the National Registry Paramedic Exam.

To become eligible for entry into the Paramedic major studies coursework, applicants must complete the following:

Applications are accepted for the fall entry into college healthcare programs on the following schedule:

- Notification of Program Acceptance Emails Sent - Mid June*

Program Student Learning Outcomes
Purpose Statement
The purpose of the Paramedic Certificate is to prepare competent entry-level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains with or without exit points at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Emergency Medical Technician, and/or Emergency Medical Responder levels.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Comprehend, apply, and evaluate information relative to the role of an entry level Paramedic.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in all of the skills necessary to fulfill the role of an entry level Paramedic.
- Apply behaviors consistent with professional and employer expectations of an entry-level paramedic.
- Comprehend basic EMS (Emergency Medical Services) knowledge necessary to function in a healthcare setting.
