Length of Programs
As a member of the South Carolina Technical College System (SCTCS), Piedmont Technical College (PTC) offers associate degree programs that conform to standards published by the State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education (SBTCE) and program specific accrediting agencies. All academic program lengths are based on semester credit hours. The standard range of credit hours for associate degree programs is 60-84 credit hours. The standard range for diploma programs is 40-52 credit hours. The standard range for certificate programs is 8-40 semester credit hours. Most associate degrees offered at Piedmont Technical College are designed to be completed in two academic years. Each academic year consists of a fall, spring, and summer term. Students are urged to complete a degree plan with their academic advisor in order to map out the completion of their degree based on their attendance pattern.
