Student Support Services

The Student Support Services (SSS) TRIO Program at Piedmont Technical College is a federally-funded college opportunity program through the U.S. Department of Education and is designed to:  increase college retention and graduation rates; increase the transfer rates from a two-year to a four-year college or university; and foster an institutional climate supportive of the success of students from low-income households, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities. The program provides a variety of free support services, resources, and activities for selected student participants of the program, including:

  • Academic, Career, Personal and/or Transfer Advising/Counseling and Coaching
  • College Readiness, Leadership Development, and Life Skills Training
  • Peer and Professional Tutoring and Mentoring Services
  • Exposure to cultural/educational events/activities and excursions
  • College Tours and other activities to assist in securing admission and financial assistance for enrollment in a four-year college or university
  • Student Success Workshops focused on Academics, Financial Literacy, Financial Aid and Scholarships, College Transfer, and Career Readiness
